We believe that salvation is received through God's grace, solely by faith in Jesus Christ, and not through personal merit or works.

Ephesians 2:8 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from ourselves, it is the gift of God—"

We believe that Scripture is the ultimate authority.

2 Timothy 3:16

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"

As Lutherans, we believe the book of Concord is a collection of doctrinal standards for the church, serving as a the summary and explanations of Biblical teachings. It provides a unified confession of faith, clarifying what Lutherans believe, teach and confess. The Book of Concord is not placed above Scripture, but rather, it is a faithful interpretation and application of it.
